blue architecture landscapes is a swedish registered
company established in 2002 as blå arkitektur landskap ab
by Nils Mjaaland, Louise Robinson and Bertil Malmström
(partner from 2002-2010).
The company is a continuation of the norwegian company
blå arkitektur landskap nils mjaaland arkitekt mnal
which was established in 1994 by Nils Mjaaland
after 10 years as partner with Knut Eirik Dahl in
blue line architects/ blå strek arkitekter as
in Tromsø, Norway.
Many projects from the blå strek have been widely
internationally published.
Nils Mjaaland was appointed professor in the
department of Architecture at Chalmers University of
Technology (Gotheburg) in 1997. During his tenure there, Mjaaland initiated and developed the new institute,
Modern Architecture. He taught at Chalmers until 2003
and during the final three years also served as a professor
at KTH - Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.
During the last 20 years, Mjaaland has served as planner
completing numerous large scale plans, mostly in Norway.
Mjaaland was awarded the norwegian goverment’s
prize for architecure, Houens fond diploma in 2003.
Louise Robinson was a partner in the Stockholm based
company Robinson Forsberg arkitekter ab from 1994-2001.
This architectural office won first prize in EUROPAN 3,
which awarded a commission which functioned as the
basis for establishing their practice. In 2004 she served as consultant for the Swedish govermental property board. 2005-06 she was the planning architect in the planning office of Södertälje municipality, a neighbouring city of Stockholm.
Martin Forsby has cooperated with blå strek and
blå arkitektur landskap ab since the beginning of the 1990´s,
He joined the team in 2007 and entered as a partner in 2010.
He has been a partner in the architectural office studio grön ab since 1996 along with Mika Mätää and Fredrik Lund.
He was the executing architect for the main park building of Trädgårn in the centre of Gothenburg, a project that has been widely published internationally.
